It breaks my heart to know that at any moment, moments like this will be no more.
They are already few and far between. They have to be caught at just the right time.
It's getting harder and sadder having Charlene over. She's more and more not herself.
But, we still love that we can spend a bit of time with her each week and Grace needs to have that family connection-it's the only one we have here in Washington. She does not understand why Grandma doesn't understand what she says, can't focus on her and answers things incorrectly, however, she still finds a way to be sweet and loving to her. I make sure to try and capture those specific moments as much as possible since it could very well be the last time.
This day, Loren gave Charlene Jake to hold. Grace on her own, grabbed her "Little Baby" which is a pink kitty cat and sat next to Grandma, copying her every move. It was a beautiful, rare site to see. One that I will cherish for always.

Kids never cease to amaze me with their open hearts and unconditional love. Seeing Grace with her Grandma reminds me of Andrew with my Poppa when he started using a walker...it's almost like Andrew knew he had to be more gentle.
I know you will share stories with her in between these moments. Cherish them.
