Thanksgiving 2009

Thanksgiving 2009, was a big year for us. The first year we didn't have family or friends to celebrate with. We stayed home all day. We made pumpkin muffins for breakfast, along with bacon and smoothies. We watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. While it was on we played chase & sleep, cooked and stamped. Then it was lunch time. After lunch we played and rested. Christmas decorations went up and then Thanksgiving Dinner was consumed. We made a Turkey Stuffing Casserole, Corn Pudding, Broccoli, Mashed Potatoes, Bread and Pumpkin Pie with a Chocolate Oreo Crust-Mmmm Mmmm. We were going to go out to see, but we realized 1. It is always way more expensive to go out to eat and 2. It just didn't feel right. Thanksgiving is about togetherness and we wanted the joy of cooking together all day and then getting to sit down together at home to eat. It was perfect and so worth it. We had a really joyous time together. Yes, we missed being with family and friends but God provided and filled that "void." HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE.
